IoT application with remote optical readings of power meters

  • Regular remote power consumption readings (15min-24h intervals) with sending data, seamless installation
  • Analysis of energy consumption
    • energy savings
    • dynamic advance invoicing
    • dynamic tarrifications
  • Monitoring the utilization of machines and equipment
  • Monitoring other parameters from power meters
  • Communication over the nationwide IoT LPWAN networks: SIGFOX or NB-IoT

SENSECOM-OMD

Key features

  • Remote power meters reading (electricity meter OBIS registers) using the IEC62056-21 optical head
  • Absolutely easy installation (magnetic attachement)
  • More than 10 years without battery replacement with one reading per day
  • Version with 3 types of antenna terminals (center, left or right)
  • Possible connection to the SENSECOM-WSH repeater in SIGFOX for approx. 20 m for hard-to-reach places
  • Broadcasting to the SIGFOX nationwide network
  • Data available in SENSEPARAM portal

Models

  • OMD
    • universal mode with the possibility of setting up to 13 read registers
    • reading interval 24h, minimum 15min for 1 register or 10min * number of registers (10min message intervals)
  • OMD – E
    • energy mode with fixed 4 registers (consumption in two tariffs, supply, electricity meter number)
    • reading interval 24h, minimum 1h
  • antenna conector orientation:
    • OMD-(E)C…Central
    • OMD-(E)L…Left
    • OMD-(E)R…Right

Note: This is not a pulse reading of the flashing metrology LED. The IEC62056-21 optical head reads data over the optical serial link directly from the meter registers. Most billing power meters are equipped with this interface (typically in the form of a target with a round aperture or a round dent with a pair of small apertures, usually below or next to the display).
