IoT Applications with Impulse reading

  • Power, water, gas, heat or similar remote consumption readings with impulse output.
  • Analysis of consumption savings and dynamic advance billing.
  • Detection of media leakage or sharp consumption change (water, gas leakage).
  • Irregular (volume based), daily or more frequent readings (15min-24h intervals)
  • Monitoring of load or overload of machines or equipment (with detection of short-term peaks)

SENSECOM-IMD (IMDS, IMDBS), IMN

IoT communication unit key features:

  • Remote consumption reading of electricity, water, gas, etc. using impulse sensor
  • Primary inputS0 impulse input
    • impulse reading from power-meter (billing or secondary) or other meter having S0 impulse input
    • S0 – galvanically separated 4,5kV (separately powered optron)
    • Supports 2-level tariffs (differentiation by grounding to neutral wire)
  • Secondary voltage-free impulse input
    • reading from a gas meter / water meter equipped with a voltage-free contact (or open collector connection, max 0.5V at max 0.5mA at closed state)
  • Broadcasting to the nationwide network:
    • SIGFOX  (models IMD)
    • NB-IoT (models IMN)

  • DIN rail (width 3U), IP20
  • powered from the mains, backup 1h by supercap or extended to 24h*
  • Input for electronical seal*
  • Manipulation detection (accelerometer)
  • Linkable to repeater SENSECOM-WSH for hard-to-reach SIGFOX places (metal cabinets, shafts, basement, etc.) – aplicable for IMD models

* optional models

SENSECOM-IMT, IMHN

IoT communication unit key features:

  • Remote consumption reading of electricity, water, gas, etc.
  • Primary inputs:
    • CNT0, CNT1 – voltage-free* impulse reading input from meters
      • CNT0 input can separate impulses into 2 counters based on media flow direction using DIR input
    • DIR – voltage-free* input applied for media flow direction resolution
    • DI – voltage-free* digital input (no galvanic isolation), applied for eg. flood detection

*Alternatively, an open-collector output limited to max. 0.5 V at max. 0.5 mA in the closed state can be connected. There is no galvanic isolation of input.

  • Broadcasting to the nationwide network IoT networks:
    • SIGFOX (models IMT)
    • NB-IoT (models IMHN)
  • External ISM antenna via SMA connector
  • powered from the lithium battery, size “C” (type SAFT LS 26500 3.6V, 7.7Ah)
  • Linkable to repeater SENSECOM-WSH for hard-to-reach SIGFOX places (metal cabinets, shafts, basement, etc.) – aplicable for IMT models
  • outdoor design, IP67
  • Models:
    • IMT – 1x M12 grommet
    • IMT2 – 2x M12 grommet
